Trade Day / Careers Showcase

Friday 9th March was a great opportunity to host high school students, interested in a transport-related career. Over 200 students were guided around the show, to visit exhibitors and gain insight into the career options available to them. A big thank you to everyone that participated in the Careers Showcase. We have had fantastic feedback from the teachers and crew leaders who were involved, with some very interested kids that left feeling inspired. With an ageing workforce and shortage of drivers, mechanics and engineers in the transport industry, we need to make the most of any opportunity to engage with the next generation.

The poor weather did not stop the students from enjoying their time at the show! There is no doubt that we will keep on improving this dimension of the show and in 2020 it will be a showcase that schools around the South Island will not want to miss.
